I haven’t made a smoothie in a while and thought today would be a great day to try a new one. My kids love my watermelon smoothies, they are really delicious, but it’s always good to mix things up once in a while.
I have a tonne of frozen rhubarb that my mother in law grew last year and we froze. I figured I had better find out a way to make something with it as spring is almost here and soon the gardens will be lush with fresh fruits and veggies.
I know what you’re thinking, rhubarb? It’s so tart? Well, that’s why we sweeten it just enough to cut the tartness. This smoothie is loaded with goodness and would be a great way to start any day.
1/2 cup frozen rhubarb
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 1/4 cup water(you can use milk if you prefer)
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
