It’s cold and windy out and your chilled to the bone. What better way to warm up than with a hot bowl of stew?
Stew is one of those ultimate comfort foods. There is all kinds of stew, curried stews, gravy-like stews, tomato based stews. A stew is one of those great dishes because you can through a whole lot of flavor into a single dish. Not only that, there really is no wrong way of making stew, you put a little of this and a little of that and you toss in ingredients and voila you have a stew!!
I have for you today a tomato based stew, I’m not a fan of gravy-like stews (much to my hubs’ dismay, he always asks for gravy-like stews), but since I’m the one cooking, he gets tomato based stews lol. Maybe one day I’ll make a gravy-like stew, one day.
stewing beef(about 3 lbs)
1tsp of onion powder
1tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
sweet potato, cubed (about 1lb)
1 small to medium onion, chopped
4 cups beef stock
1 15-16 oz can tomato sauce(preferably organic and bpa free)
To begin, brown stewing beef in a frying pan, with spices.
Next place stewing beef in slow cooker along with remaing ingredients. Place on high for 4 hours.
Then enjoy the awesomeness that you have created!
